I've been working away on a couple of tracks, which are inspired by various artists which could all be described as fitting into a fairly little know genre called 'Fourth World'. It's quite a broad term and caters for a variety of artists including Brian Eno and his 'Possible Musics / Fourth world' collaborations with trumpet player Jon Hassle, as well as Geinoh Yamashirogumi, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Mkwaju Ensemble and Harry Hosono amongst others.
(Fourth World, Tribal House, Alt-Disco)
Sampled Slate-Marimba, built up and re-sequenced into rhythmical loops, using an analog drum machine, layered with experimental phased out cello drones and cut up vocal phrases. Vocally / Lyrically experimenting with semantics; Subverting repetitive phrases by the subtle change of intonation, reordering, addition, or subtraction of key-words to change meanings.
